5th Edition of Bangalore Nano in December

Nano-2012-Announcement.jpgThe Department of IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka, has announced that the 5th edition of Bangalore Nano event will be held on 6th and 7th of December 2012 in Bangalore. The 5th assemblage of Bangalore Nano will feature an exhibition and conference sessions addressed by internationally acclaimed speakers and experts discussing a range of issues pertaining to research, technology development, skills requirement, institutions involved, risks issues, regulatory & governance structure, Investment and collaborations between Academia, R&D & Industry. Bangalore Nano 2012 will also feature a Pre-Conference Tutorial Session on the 5th of December 2012 for the delegates which will offer a quick preview on the Fundamentals to NanoFabrication - a major growth area in nanotechnology for India.

Making the announcement Shri. ISN Prasad, IAS- Principal Secretary to Government, Dept. of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka, said, "Nanotechnology is one of the most important technologies in the last decade which has made great inroads in crucial areas for the betterment of mankind. Major benefits of nanotechnology include improved manufacturing methods, water purification systems, energy conservation systems, cosmetology, nanomedicine, better food production methods for nutritious foods and large scale infrastructure pre-fabrication. The Healthcare, Environment, Energy, Agriculture, ICT, Engineering and Consumer Goods sectors will see a radical change with the applications of nanotechnology."

"The "Nano Mission" of Government of India will bring about a sea of change and opportunities for Indian & Multi-National companies to invest in Nanotechnology. India's strength in core technology and biotechnology will be a major factor for the growth of Nanotechnology. Along with appropriate policies and government support, nanotechnology will blossom in India." he added.

The event will see participation of Chief Scientific Officers, Policy Makers, VPs, Directors, Heads of organisations, Scientists, Chemists, Research Leaders/ Fellows/ Advisors from Industry, Government and Research Institutions.
