Tata Motors Launches 17 Next-Gen Trucks, Expands EV Range

Tata Motors has launched a next-generation portfolio of 17 trucks ranging from 7 to 55 tonnes, marking a major step in the transformation of India’s commercial vehicle and logistics ecosystem. The new range spans the all-new Azura series, an expanded Tata Trucks.ev portfolio, and significant upgrades to the Prima, Signa and Ultra platforms, with a strong focus on safety, performance, profitability and sustainability.

All new trucks are engineered to comply with the stringent ECE R29 03 global crash safety standard, covering frontal, rollover and side-impact protection. The cabins are further equipped with up to 23 India-specific advanced active safety technologies, including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and collision mitigation systems, supported by real-time driver behaviour monitoring through Tata Motors’ Fleet Edge connected vehicle platform.

Launching the portfolio, Girish Wagh, MD & CEO, Tata Motors Ltd, said,“India’s trucking landscape is undergoing a rapid transformation, driven by progressive national policies, modern infrastructure, and the rising demand for safer, cleaner, and more efficient logistics. Tata Motors has always led the way in setting benchmarks that shape the industry’s future. With the introduction of our next-generation portfolio—including the all-new Azura series, two advanced high-efficiency powertrains, India’s widest range of zero-emission electric trucks and tippers on our new I-MOEV architecture, significant upgrades to European standard cabins and industry-leading safety features, increased payload and fuel efficiency, all seamlessly integrated with Fleet Edge digital services—we are advancing this legacy. Guided by the ‘Better Always’ philosophy, our relentless drive for innovation, deep commitment to localisation, and unwavering focus on customer success embody the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, enhancing India’s self-reliance and leadership in sustainable mobility.”

The newly introduced Azura range is purpose-built for the intermediate and light commercial vehicle segment, offering configurations from 7 to 19 tonnes. Powered by a new 3.6-litre diesel engine, the range targets applications across e-commerce, FMCG, white goods, construction materials, agriculture and industrial logistics, with an emphasis on driver comfort, productivity and uptime.

Across the upgraded portfolio, Tata Motors has enhanced payload capacity by up to 1.8 tonnes and improved fuel efficiency by up to 7 per cent through drivetrain upgrades, including the 6.7-litre Cummins diesel engine. These gains are complemented by Fleet Edge Priority services, offering predictive analytics, real-time vehicle health monitoring and trip optimisation to improve fleet utilisation and reduce total cost of ownership.

In electric mobility, Tata Motors expanded its Tata Trucks.ev range, covering 7 to 55 tonnes on the new IMOEV architecture. The portfolio includes the Ultra EV range for urban and regional operations, the Prima E.55S electric prime mover with 470 kW power and a 453 kWh battery, and the Prima E.28K electric tipper for mining and construction, enabling zero-emission operations in heavy-duty applications.

Customers will also benefit from Tata Motors’ Sampoorna Seva 2.0 ecosystem, which includes 24×7 service support, assured spare parts availability, AMC packages, driver training, connected services and customised financing solutions, delivering end-to-end peace of mind for fleet operators.
