UPSIDA Board Clears 34 Proposals to Boost Industrial Infrastructure

Under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) continues to strengthen and expand industrial infrastructure, supporting the state’s goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy.

The 50th Board Meeting of UPSIDA was held on April 1, 2026, at Lok Bhavan, New Secretariat Complex, Lucknow, under the chairmanship of Alok Kumar. A total of 34 proposals related to industrial development, infrastructure strengthening, and investment promotion were reviewed and approved.

Key decisions included the selection of a Third-Party Inspection Agency (TPIA) to ensure quality in development and maintenance works. Layout plans for industrial areas in Kampil Spinning Mill, Mau Aima, Bahadurganj, Salempur, and Barabanki were approved, while revised layout plans for Ballia, Hathras, Fatehpur, Barabanki, and Chitrakoot were cleared with modifications.

The Board directed amendments to policies to expand the land bank and approved the implementation of a drone-based monitoring system for improved transparency and supervision of civil, electrical, and solid waste management works in industrial areas. Instructions were also issued to prepare a revised land allotment scheme and process applications as per rules.

Regarding land acquisition in Saharanpur and Badaun, the Board emphasised ensuring proper road connectivity before proceeding. It was also decided that once 75 per cent of allotable land is allocated, the remaining 25 per cent will be offered through e-auction. Ongoing development projects will continue alongside parallel allotment processes.

The Chairperson stated that these measures will enhance efficiency, transparency, and an investment-oriented approach, promoting industrial investment, employment generation, and balanced regional development. Financial support from the Government will enable infrastructure projects to be expedited within one year.

He further emphasised strengthening transparency and fairness in the allotment process through e-auction and directed that investor grievances be resolved within one month through dedicated camps.

“UPSIDA’s objective is not merely to allot industrial plots, but to develop a world-class industrial ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh where entrepreneurs can realise their aspirations on a strong foundation of technology and transparency. Initiatives like drone-based monitoring and digital services will accelerate the state’s progress towards the $1 trillion economy target,” said Kumar.

He added, “The proposals approved in the Board Meeting will not only strengthen industrial infrastructure but also enhance investor confidence. Our aim is to provide a world-class industrial ecosystem in the state.”

In conclusion, the Chairperson directed that special attention be given to road connectivity and logistics infrastructure during land acquisition in regions such as Saharanpur and Badaun, with the decisions expected to accelerate investments and generate large-scale employment opportunities.
