The TMTS 2014 - Taiwan International Machine Tool Show - is scheduled for November 5-9 2014, hosted by Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders' Association (TMBA) at the Greater Taichung International Expo Centre (GTIEC), Taichung. TMTS 2014 will showcase an innovative "exhibition integrated with manufacturing supply chain" style exhibition, which is highly appreciated by exhibitors and buyers from all over the world. The exhibition area is anticipated to be 54,000 sq.m with 3,700 booths exhibiting all types of high precision machine tools, components, accessories, tools and automation equipment. The organizers are anticipating a 55% increase in overall scale than the last show in 2012.

Taiwan is one of the major producing and consuming markets for global machine tools. There are more than 1600 manufacturers in Taiwan machine tool supply chain, and nearly 90% of these manufacturers are concentrated in the Greater Taichung area. Taichung is not only a major base in global machine tool manufacturing; but also a major consuming market in machine tools and other mechanical equipment. In 2012 Taiwan was ranked 9th among the machine tool consuming markets in the world. Inside the 60 km radius of the Taichung machine tool cluster, the best engineering solutions are available for global machine users from industries including moulds, hand tools, bicycles, automobile and motorcycle parts, metalworking and all kinds of machinery.

TMTS is held at Taichung, which takes the advantage of closing sales market and easy transportation. The last show attracted 65,227 visitors, and for the forthcoming show the visitor count is expected to cross 70,000. To provide optimal services for visitors and buyers from all over the world, the organisers are offering a series of events, such as new product release, purchasing conference, factory visits and free city tour.

The exhibition is planned along five pavilions to meet the buyer demand from different fields: 1) Metal Cutting Machine Tools; 2) Metal Forming Machine Tools; 3) Components/Parts/Tools/Toolholding & Workholding Devices/Accessories/Software/Inspecting, Measuring and Testing Equipment; 4) Automation & Robotics/Hydraulic & Pneumatic Components; and 5) International Associations & Media Area.

TMTS 2014 will be highlighted under two themes of: 5-axis Machine Tool Cutting Applications and Servitisation in Manufacturing.
