The 11th edition of the Automation Expo was a huge success bringing together industry leaders for this successful show.
It was an occasion for showcasing, networking and knowledge sharing in the one topic which is no longer over-rated but forming the very basis of the industrial wheels and ecosystem today – automation. Automation 2016 was inaugurated on 22nd August 2016 in the presence of the major players in the world of automation. It was a show of strength of the automation sector as global and Indian players in the field displayed their products to show world the importance and significance of automation for economic and industrial growth of the world. The event concluded on a grand note garnering close to 50,000 business visitors, delegates and key decision makers from over 25 countries and 90 cities.
This year the exhibition expanded its horizons showcasing over 920 exhibitors from every facet of the rapidly expanding global automation industry. The event was spread covering a space of over 25,000 sq.m, including an action packed conference with a gamut of influential speakers and attendees from all over the globe.
The exhibition was inaugurated and appreciated by key industry captains. Mr M Arokiaswamy, Managing Director of IED Communications welcomed all dignitaries present at the Automation 2016 show. While addressing, he expressed his gratitude to all exhibitors, supporters for extending valued support and togetherness with IED and Automation for more than a decade.
Mr S Sudershan Rao, Scientist-E/ Director, Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi, expressed high regards for efforts put by IED Communications to make Automation 2016 to such a high profile expo.
Mr Farhad Forbes, Co-Chairman of Forbes Marshall, the person responsible for the industrial process automation and control group of the company, was all praise for the event and the organisers and sponsors. Forbes Marshall is one of India’s leading companies in the fields of steam engineering, energy conservation, utilities management, emissions monitoring and industrial process automation and control. He is currently Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) National Committee on Affirmative Action and has held several positions in CII. He previously served on the Executive Committee and is presently Vice Chairman and a Board member of Family Business Network – International (FBN-I). Mr Forbes spoke on the 25th anniversary of the Industrial Reforms on how the industry has changed and its impact on the instrumentation and automation sector.
The exhibition also offered special experience zones including – Robotics Pavilion, Smart Automation-Smart City Pavilion, Industrial Internet of Things Conference, MSME Summit on Automation and a power packed CEO Summit with a focus on promoting the cause of “Make In India” through automation.
Special featured events
This edition of the exhibition catered to every aspect and addressed every need of the Automation Industry, with its Special Featured Events, mentioned below:
>> Robotics Pavilion: This was the most exciting part of the exhibition area with live demos, virtual ergonomic experiences and real life testing of the latest technology and know-how in the Automation Industry
>> Smart Automation: This pavilion was the eye candy for those hungry to learn and contribute to the most spoken of subject as on date – Smart Cities. The pavilion addressed the rapidly increasing need of automation towards the development of what we call smart cities. A technologically driven governance and asset management is the key to high operational efficiencies with improved standard of living at lower costs. This edition of the exhibition made an attempt to contribute the awareness and acceptance drive of these smart cities and the role which automation plays in such eco systems.
>> Technology & Start up cluster: Special cluster was created to encourage start-ups and IIoT ready companies and companies in the solar business. Special subsidy was given to encourage the companies to showcase their technologies, products, systems, service and solutions. We got a good response for this cluster. Automation 2017 had companies showcasing 3d printing and 3d scanning technology. Nine companies participated in the start-up cluster, and 12 companies in the IIoT and 3D printing technology cluster.
The 11th edition of this industry revolutionising event was supported by key industry and educational associations, including-Instrumentations Expert Club, ISA, Textile Machinery Manufacturer’s Association, Control System Integrator’s Association, Instrumentation & Control Society of Malaysia, All India Association of Industries, Bombay Small Scale Industry Association and the Indian Industries Association.
Automation Expo 2017 will be larger than life with over 1000 exhibitors, 75000 delegates & visitors and a wide range of featured pavilions, conferences, summits. The 12th edition of the exhibition would focus on “Rapidly Expanding Automation in India paving the way for Global expansion contributing to the national vision and mission of MAKE IN INDIA” IED Communications endeavors to deliver the best of the services and experience again in 2017 to all exhibitors, speakers, delegates and visitors.
