HTech introduced the Honor 90 5G in the Indian market in September, marking the brand's re-entry into the country. Previously launched in China in May, this phone boasts a powerful 200-megapixel primary rear camera and offers a clean, bloatware-free user experience. One of its key features is the promise of two years of Android software updates for users in India.
HTech, the driving force behind Honor's comeback, has invested Rs 400 crore to establish operational and distribution networks for the Honor brand in India. The company plans to expand its product lineup in the coming months, although specific details were not disclosed by CEO Madhav Sheth. Additionally, HTech is actively engaging with three contract manufacturers in India and aims to commence local manufacturing of Honor smartphones by the first quarter of 2024.
Considering India as a pivotal market for Honor's global expansion, Sheth emphasised the strategic importance of the country. Although he remained tight-lipped about the specifics, he hinted at significant plans in store for the Indian market in 2024.
During the ongoing festive season, HTech is targeting the sale of 50,000 Honor 90 5G units through both online and offline channels, with a sales goal of up to Rs 60 crore. To boost sales, the company is offering attractive deals and discounts as part of Amazon's Great Indian Festival sale, which commenced on October 8. As part of these offers, the 8GB + 256GB variant is available for as low as Rs 26,999, and the 12GB + 512GB variant can be purchased at Rs 29,999. The Honor 90 5G is available in striking Diamond Silver, Emerald Green, and Midnight Black colour options.
