Hindustan Power, led by Chairman Ratul Puri, has secured multiple renewable energy and battery storage projects across several states this year, strengthening its integrated clean-energy portfolio and supporting India’s energy transition.

Since early 2025, the company has added nearly 1 GW of solar capacity and over 0.75 GWh of energy storage. The additions include standalone solar plants as well as solution-based projects combining photovoltaic generation with battery storage, aligned with evolving grid requirements and government policy encouraging storage integration.

The company has signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) for a 435 MWp solar project.

Hindustan Power has also secured an inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected project from SJVN Limited, involving the installation of 200 MWp of solar capacity along with more than 250 MWh of battery storage.

In Bihar, the company signed a Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) with Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited for a 120 MWh standalone battery storage project spread across three substations. The project will be developed under a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model.

Most recently, the company secured an ISTS-connected project from SECI for 150 MW of contracted capacity. Under this project, approximately 300 MWp of solar capacity and 360 MWh of battery storage will be installed. The project was awarded through a competitive bidding and e-reverse auction process.

Ratul Puri, Chairman of Hindustan Power, said, “By combining renewable generation with advanced storage, we are creating flexible, dispatchable power solutions that strengthen state grids and accelerate India’s transition to a sustainable energy future.”

These efforts reinforce Hindustan Power’s position as a key contributor to India’s energy security and to the nation’s transition toward sustainable power generation.
