Hindustan Power, one of India’s leading integrated power generation companies, today announced the commencement of its 435 MWp solar power project in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh, at the Clean Energy Summit 2025. The summit, themed ‘Uttar Pradesh- Powering a USD 1 Trillion Economy through Renewable Energy,’ is organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Northern Region, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) at Hotel Hyatt, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.

This 435 MWp solar power project marks a significant step forward for Uttar Pradesh, supporting the state’s goal of achieving 22,000 MW of renewable energy by 2026-27, reinforcing its transition towards clean and reliable energy sources. Awarded by Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) through a competitive process in April 2025, the project will provide clean electricity to the state for the next 25 years. Beyond generating green energy, the project will create new jobs and stimulate sustainable growth in the local community.

Ratul Puri, Chairman, Hindustan Power, said, “With the Lalitpur project office now open, our teams are excited to begin, and we look forward to collaborating with the local community as we progress with this solar initiative. As we move forward, we remain dedicated to delivering reliable, green energy that powers homes and businesses, helping build a cleaner, stronger future for generations to come."

With the project office operational, Hindustan Power will initiate mobilization activities, including site development, workforce engagement, and coordination with stakeholders. The Lalitpur solar project is a crucial part of Hindustan Power’s ongoing efforts to expand renewable energy across India, emphasizing the company’s commitment to timely project delivery and long-term collaborations. This initiative also aligns with Hindustan Power’s goal of achieving a 5 GW clean energy portfolio, further contributing to India’s transition to sustainable power sources.
