Gruner Renewable Energy appoints Ajmal Singh Kathat as Executive Vice President

Gruner Renewable Energy, India’s leading energy conglomerate, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ajmal Singh Kathat as its new Executive Vice President. A distinguished professional with over 36 years of experience in security, intelligence, and resource management, Ajmal brings a wealth of expertise to his role, further strengthening Gruner’s commitment to security and operational excellence in the renewable energy sector.

Ajmal began his career in 1984 after successfully clearing the UPSC examination for the Central Police Organisation, joining the Border Security Force (BSF) as an Assistant Commandant and advancing to the rank of Inspector General. Throughout his tenure with the BSF, Ajmal demonstrated exceptional leadership, directing operations along India’s strategic borders with Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar. His dedication and accomplishments in high-stakes environments earned him prestigious recognitions, including the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Services in 2011 and the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2018. Notably, during the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35(A), he was appointed as BSF in-charge in Kashmir, successfully implementing government policies and ensuring stability.

Following his retirement, Ajmal transitioned into consultancy roles, contributing his expertise to ATZ SS Corps Limited under the Jal Jeevan Mission and serving as a consultant with AYE Cart Fintech Pvt. Ltd. and as a legal advisor with Nimisha Fin Company (NBFC).

Strategic leadership in high-stakes environments: Led operations across critical border regions, handling complex security situations, and large-scale team management.

Comprehensive security and intelligence expertise: Skilled in intelligence gathering, risk assessment, and implementing robust security measures, essential for protecting Gruner’s renewable energy projects.

Effective asset and resource management: Proven track record in overseeing internal and external assets, optimizing manpower allocation, and ensuring seamless project operations.

Distinguished recognition for service excellence: Awarded the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Services and the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, underscoring his dedication and exemplary leadership.

  •  Policy implementation: Successfully executed high-impact policies, including during the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35(A), demonstrating expertise in operational coordination and government compliance.
