A legacy of innovation since 1973
Established in 1973 in Kolkata by D K Dugar, CECO Electric Co (the predecessor of CECO Electronics Pvt Ltd) was founded with the mission to introduce cutting-edge electrical and electronics technology to benefit the industry. The company has been actively involved in manufacturing, assembling, and trading electrical and electronic control systems, including microprocessor-based programmable controllers, counters, power distribution solutions, and motor controls.
Initially, CECO focused on serving textile industries in Eastern India before expanding its reach across the country. Its systems have significantly enhanced energy savings and machine productivity in the textile sector. The company's reputation has extended beyond India, with its products being exported regularly to Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Thailand.

CECO specialises in CNC-fabricated panels using CRCA/stainless steel sheets with powder-coated paints. The company ensures the highest quality by incorporating world-class imported components. Bringing global technologies to India
CECO's commitment to delivering world-class solutions has led to strategic alliances with international firms:
- 2004: CECO partnered with LS Industrial Systems Co Ltd (formerly LG Industrial Systems Co Ltd) of South Korea to introduce automation, LV/MV control gear, and switchgear products in India. This collaboration aimed at making advanced technology and energy-efficient solutions accessible to Indian industries. CECO successfully implemented automation and energy-saving solutions in industries such as textiles, bottling plants, power plants, and oil refineries. A notable project was the installation of energy-saving systems at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) tanker filling stations nationwide.
- 2011: CECO joined hands with Shenzhen Sine Electric Co Ltd (SINEE) to bring specialized AC drives to India. These drives, catering to various applications, operate with both single-phase and three-phase inputs.
- 2017: The company collaborated with Quanzhou Sangchuan Electric Equipment Co Ltd (SANCH) to supply drives for applications in fan/pump systems, textile machinery, conveyor systems, food processing machinery, cranes, and elevators.
Future focus: Solar and robotics
As part of its growth strategy, CECO Electronics is exploring new opportunities in solar pump systems and robotic controls for industrial use. "We are in active discussions with various international organisations to develop these technologies. Additionally, we plan to expand our factory space in Kolkata from 30,000 sq ft to 100,000 sq ft in alignment with the government's 'Make in India' initiative," a company official stated.
With its deep-rooted expertise, global collaborations, and a vision for innovation, CECO Electric Company continues to play a crucial role in advancing industrial automation and energy-saving solutions in India and beyond.
