Minda Corporation Limited, the flagship company of the Spark Minda Group, has formed a joint venture with Japan-based Toyodenso Co to produce advanced automotive switches for the Indian market.

This collaboration will offer end-to-end solutions, including the design, development, manufacturing, and marketing of automotive switches for two-wheelers, passenger vehicles, and other segments within the Indian automotive industry. Minda Corporation will hold a majority stake in the new venture, investing in a shareholding ratio of 60:40. The Joint Venture has already secured orders from Indian customers. A greenfield facility will be established in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, with operations expected to commence in the second half of FY 2026–27.

The alliance aligns strategically with the increasing demand for advanced switching solutions in India and complements Minda Corporation’s existing product range. It also strengthens efforts to localise emerging technologies for customers. Toyodenso will bring cutting-edge technologies and engineering capabilities, while Minda Corporation will leverage its extensive experience in local manufacturing and robust supply chain ecosystem.

Ashok Minda, Chairman and Group CEO of Minda Corporation Limited, stated, “We are honoured to collaborate with Toyodenso, a global Japanese firm with a legacy of technological innovation. This partnership is a significant step in our mission to offer intelligent mobility solutions and drive indigenous manufacturing by integrating global expertise into India's automotive sector.”

Kiyoshi Koide, President of Toyodenso Co Ltd, commented, “Toyodenso aims to stabilise its business base and, in collaboration with Spark Minda, will develop the Indian market with a focus on manufacturing and distributing automotive components in this rapidly growing region.”
