Arrow Electronics is an American company headquartered in Centennial, Colorado. The company specialises in distribution and value added services relating to electronic components and computer products. Bhartendu Mishra, Managing Director – India, Arrow Electronics, in this interview, talks about company’s growth plans and shares the current challenges and opportunities in the Indian market.
How is your company serving its customers? What significant role is it playing in the Electronics and Electrical Industry of India?
Arrow Electronics is a Colorado based US multinational company serving customers globally. A fortune 109 company and largest globally we believe in helping make benefits of technology reach as many people as possible. Arrow Electronics is one of the global Electronics Components Distributors engaged in supporting a large and diverse customer base in India across all market verticals such as Industrial, Automotive, Telecom, Defence and Aerospace, Consumer electronics, Medical, IOT etc. Our presence in India is now more than 25 years and we have been part of this growing market since 1993.
In your opinion, how PLI scheme and other such schemes are helping industry and companies to grow?
Government PLI scheme is received very well and its certainly pushing manufacturing forward. We see these schemes will continue to boost the manufacturing base in India. These schemes build confidence of local as well global companies who wish to avail these incentives to not only make products for India Captive market but also serve their global demands from here.
What challenges as a manufacturer do you see currently in the Indian market? What suggestions would you provide to overcome them?
We are in technology distribution space engaged in supply chain and distribution of components also offering services in embedded designs. We have witnessed over time Indian companies and designers are significantly increasing their value around design and manufacturing. We do expect sustained investments in increase of capacities in manufacturing and more local designs out of India.
What opportunities do you see in the Indian market in the coming 5 years? How is your company aiming to tap these opportunities?
India has a unique advantage today with areas of tech influence growing thick and fast e-governance, fintech, growing e-commerce, renewable energy, automotive, electric vehicle, consumer electronics, telecom 4G /5G, defence and aerospace, medical and also AI in every vertical will be the core driver of business in India.
What are your growth plans for the coming years?
With our global supply chain capabilities, engineering expertise and wide range of product offerings, we are well positioned to help our customers to create, make and manage products of tomorrow. We see opportunity in SCM efficiency and shall continue to work with stake holders to scale our presence and offerings.
