Tsugami, one of the world’s leading precision engineering machine tool giants, took its long-term commitment to India to the next orbit with the formal inauguration of its world-class precision engineering assembly and foundry infrastructure in Oragadam on the outskirts of Chennai.

Arun Roy, IAS, Secretary – Industries, Government of Tamil Nadu, Kaoru Shiraishi, Director General, JETRO, Toshihiro Serikawa, Chairman of the Board, Tsugami India, Mami Matushita, Director, Tsugami India, Veera Suresh Kumar, Director, Tsugami India, and K Balasubramanian, Founder, Tsugami Precision India and Chairman & MD, Proteck Machinery India, were present on the occasion.

The assembly, with an annual capacity of 3000 machines, and the foundry, with an installed annual capacity of 6000 tons spread over 15 acres, will enhance the volume production of high-performance machine tools of Tsugami in Bharat. The 300000 sq ft facility situated at SIPCOT Industrial Park, Oragadam, will employ 700 professionals, with another 300 required to support the facility, taking total employment to above 1000.

The new infrastructure enables increased indigenous production of Tsugami machine tools. Starting from bare metal to finished machines, the newly inaugurated facilities enhance scale of production while maintaining the stringent quality standards that Tsugami is known for worldwide. The expansion enables in-house manufacture of the machines, promoting quality with volume scalability.
