SIT plans to introduce new power transmission solutions in India: Amit Nangre

India’s manufacturing landscape is undergoing rapid transformation, with technology adoption, global competition, and policy support shaping its trajectory. In this evolving environment, quality, innovation, and customer trust are crucial for long-term success. In this interview, Amit Nangre, Executive Director, SIT India Pvt Ltd, shares insights on the company’s growth journey, challenges, and future opportunities.

Kindly briefly us about SIT PTC India.
We at SIT India manufacture mechanical power transmission components. We are a 100% subsidiary of SIT Italy, which itself is part of the 200-year-old Scaglia Group. In India, we serve almost all major segments including construction equipment, machine tools, automation, bulk material handling (BMH), and pharmaceutical machinery. Since our inception in 2022, we have partnered with nearly 150 OEMs across the country.

How did your company perform during FY 2024-25?
We recorded strong growth in FY 2024-25. One of the major highlights was the successful supply of components for the bulk material handling (BMH) market, which reinforced our presence in this sector.

What factors give your organization a competitive edge in the industry?
Our strength lies in high product quality, competitive pricing, on-time deliveries, and strong customer relationships.

What are the key challenges before the industry?
The biggest challenge is competition from the influx of cheap Chinese products. While it is difficult to compete purely on price, we offer a comprehensive basket of products, which reduces the need for customers to depend on multiple vendors. This value proposition helps us build long-term trust.

How do you assess the current market scenario for Indian manufacturing?
The Indian manufacturing sector is undergoing drastic changes influenced by external factors such as tariff wars and low-cost imports. However, the demand for localised, high-quality, and technologically advanced products continues to rise, offering opportunities for domestic players like us.

What will be the effect of the latest GST reforms on the manufacturing sector?
The GST reforms are expected to have a positive impact by simplifying compliance and reducing ambiguity, which in turn will support growth and efficiency.

How have initiatives such as Make in India and the PLI scheme boosted growth?
These initiatives have been very effective. They have boosted domestic manufacturing, attracted investment, and strengthened supplier ecosystems across sectors.

What emerging trends do you see shaping the future of manufacturing in India and globally?
The key trends include:
  • Enhanced product knowledge to compete globally
  • Wider availability of technology and raw materials aligned with international standards
  • Greater emphasis on automation, digitization, and quality improvements
What are your company’s growth plans for FY 2025-26?
We plan to introduce new products to expand our portfolio and provide customers with a broader range of solutions. Additionally, we will introduce custom-made products to meet specific client needs, further strengthening our position as a trusted solutions provider.
