Rockwell Automation to establish new manufacturing facility in Chennai

Rockwell Automation, a leading US industrial automation provider, has announced plans to set up a new manufacturing facility in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The facility covers 98,000 square feet. It aims to enhance the company’s supply chain agility and sustainability in the Asia-Pacific region. It will be located in the Sholinganallur Elcot Special Economic Zone, adjacent to its existing CUBIC manufacturing site.

Expected to open in the first half of 2025, the new facility is strategically chosen to create synergies with the CUBIC site, thereby increasing productivity and operational efficiency in the region. Dilip Sawhney, Managing Director, Rockwell Automation India, expressed enthusiasm about strengthening the company’s presence in India and optimising global manufacturing operations.

Tamil Nadu's Industries Minister, TRB Rajaa, highlighted the state’s ability to attract significant global investments, reinforcing its robust manufacturing capabilities. He noted that the new Rockwell facility in Oragadam will further enhance the region's manufacturing ecosystem.

This investment underscores Rockwell Automation’s commitment to the Asia-Pacific market, following the recent opening of a new Customer Experience Centre in Singapore. Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Rockwell Automation employs around 29,000 people and serves customers in over 100 countries worldwide.
