Positioning PVNA Group as a global clean mobility partner: Viveka Bhandari

Brief us about your company.

PVNA Group is a future-focused auto component conglomerate driving sustainable mobility through its three companies- Padmini VNA Mechatronics, PV Clean Mobility Technologies, and Padmini E-Drive.

Founded in 1991, the Group delivers advanced mechatronics, electronics, and clean mobility solutions, backed by over 30 per cent of its workforce in R&D and a portfolio of 100+ patents.

With a global presence across Europe, Asia, North America, and South America, PVNA partners with leading OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers to deliver customer-inspired innovations. Its wide range of high-efficiency components including EGR valves, throttle bodies, solenoid valves, seating & sunroof solutions, pumps, sensors, electronics, and fuel system products that enhances the fuel economy, performance, and safety of passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and tractors.

With rapid shifts toward electrification and sensors, what growth avenues are you prioritising?

We are investing strongly in three areas: electrification, thermal management, and intelligent mechatronics.

This includes BLDC-based actuators, e-pumps, thermal modules for EVs, and next-generation sensors and electronic control units. We are also expanding our software and electronics capabilities because the future of mobility will be driven as much by intelligence as by hardware.

How would you describe the auto component industry today?

The industry is resilient and growing but also undergoing massive change.

Electrification, tighter regulations, and increasing electronics content are reshaping what OEMs expect from suppliers.

Companies that innovate, localise, and invest in R&D are well placed to ride this transformation. Overall, the sentiment remains positive, but agility is becoming more important than ever.

What challenges do Indian suppliers face amid geopolitical shifts?

Supply chain volatility especially in semiconductors and critical materials remains a challenge. India still depends on imports for several advanced components, and this adds cost and uncertainty.

At the same time, OEM expectations around technology readiness are rising quickly. Suppliers need to scale capabilities in electronics, software, and materials engineering to stay competitive. It’s a demanding phase, but also full of opportunity for those who adapt fast.

How will the rare-earth permanent magnet scheme help the industry?

It’s a very timely initiative. Permanent magnets are at the heart of electric motors and several mechatronic systems. Localising them will reduce import dependence, stabilise supply chains, and give Indian EV component manufacturers a major competitive edge.

For companies like ours with a growing e-drive and motor-driven portfolio, this support accelerates our ability to innovate and scale.

With trade realignments underway, what opportunities do you see for Indian manufacturers? How are you preparing?

Global OEMs are looking for reliable, cost-competitive partners outside traditional supply hubs. India fits this shift well.

The biggest opportunities are in e-mobility components, advanced mechatronics, and electronics. We are preparing by strengthening vertical integration, expanding exports, investing in automation, and working closely with OEMs on co-development projects.

Our focus is simple: deliver world-class quality with agility.

What is your outlook for the company, and how will you strengthen capabilities?

Our outlook is optimistic. The transition to cleaner, smarter mobility aligns perfectly with our core strengths.

We are scaling our capabilities in electronics, software, and thermal management, while deepening our engineering and validation infrastructure. We are also enhancing manufacturing automation to support global quality standards.

The aim is to position the PVNA Group as a trusted global partner for advanced mechatronic and clean mobility solutions.
