Ultraviolette has announced a strategic investment from TDK Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of TDK Corporation. This partnership marks a pivotal step in Ultraviolette’s mission to develop and scale globally competitive, performance-oriented electric vehicles that reflect Indian innovation and engineering.

The $21M funding round included strategic participation from TDK Ventures and strong backing from existing investors Zoho Corporation and Lingotto (formerly Exor Capital), alongside other institutional investors. TDK Ventures joins Ultraviolette’s group of investors including Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corporation, Speciale Invest, Lingotto, and TVS Motor Company. Notable individual investors include Sriharsha Majety, Ankit Nagori, Aprameya Radhakrishna, and Dulquer Salmaan.

Founded in 2016 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, Ultraviolette’s flagship motorcycle, the F77, is the first Indian electric two-wheeler to achieve European certification, now sold in 10 European countries. With operations in 20 Indian cities, the company plans to expand to over 100 cities nationwide. The collaboration with TDK Ventures will accelerate innovation in advanced battery platforms, intelligent vehicle systems, and global market expansion.

Narayan Subramaniam said the partnership will fast-track the vision for future-ready mobility and reinforce the commitment to delivering aspirational, globally relevant EVs. Niraj Rajmohan added that the collaboration will continue pushing deep-tech boundaries to create safer, smarter, and more efficient electric mobility ecosystems.

TDK Ventures focuses on energy, mobility, and sustainability, supporting scalable solutions that shape the global economy. Its Bengaluru Innovation Hub, launched in 2023, empowers Indian entrepreneurs to take technologies to global markets. TDK Corporation, a global leader in electronic solutions, posted $14.4 billion in sales in fiscal 2025 and employs about 105,000 people worldwide.
