India is a key for Stefanini Group’s growth strategy in Asia: Marco Stefanini

Founded in 1987 by Marco Stefanini, Stefanini Group is a global tech consulting company. From artificial intelligence and automation to cybersecurity and hybrid infrastructure, the company provides end-to-end digital solutions. During interaction with Rakesh Rao at Hannover Messe 2026, Marco Stefanini, Founder & Global CEO of Stefanini Group, outlines the company’s strategic approach to digital transformation in manufacturing and its global expansion plans with a focus on Asia and India.

Kindly brief us about the Stefanini Group.
Stefanini Group is the largest Latin American technology company, operating in over 100 countries with around 40,000 employees. Our value proposition focuses on identifying opportunities in various economic sectors to enhance efficiency through technology. Among our seven specialised business units, the manufacturing division focuses on driving digital transformation in industrial operations.

At Stefanini, we assess industrial organisations to identify gaps impeding operational efficiency, particularly in energy usage. Our consulting-led approach involves diagnosing these challenges, designing tailored technological and engineering solutions, and implementing them to deliver tangible gains. We combine advisory services with actionable solutions, ensuring clients achieve improved operational and energy efficiency.

Our 15 years of AI expertise uniquely positions us against competitors. We integrate IoT, PLC, SCADA, and industrial systems with data engineering, data science, process optimisation, and advanced control techniques. This combination enables a measurable improvement in operational and energy performance for our clients.

What kinds of challenges manufacturing facilities face today and how Stefanini Group addresses them?
One of the primary challenges is cultural. Historically, operational decisions in manufacturing have been guided by experience, intuition, and bias rather than data. Plant managers have traditionally relied on knowledge accumulated over decades. To overcome this, we focus on cultural transformation, shifting decision-making to a data-driven model.

By leveraging AI, we can achieve prescriptive analytics where algorithms not only predict outcomes but also guide operational decisions. This transition from experience-based to data-driven decision-making significantly enhances efficiency and productivity. AI-driven insights allow managers to act on precise predictions, optimising processes while reducing energy consumption and operational costs.

Which end-user industries are currently driving your growth?
Mining stands out for its mature analytical decision-making processes. We also see similar sophistication in certain industrial sectors, followed by food and beverage, and consumer packaged goods (CPG). These sectors are increasingly embracing data-driven decision-making, recognising the benefits of cultural and technological transformation in operational management.

What are Stefanini’s key highlights at Hannover Messe 2026?
Energy efficiency is a central focus. The industrial community is seeking ways to produce more efficiently rather than merely increasing output. By integrating AI with optimisation techniques and advanced control processes, we aim to improve operational performance. A recent Financial Times report highlighted a potential 17% improvement in energy efficiency across industrial segments through AI applications, which underscores the relevance of our solutions.

How do you view India as a market for Stefanini Group?
India presents two major opportunities. First, in the mining sector, India has a strong position in exploration and beneficiation of critical minerals. Stefanini can partner strategically with these industries, leveraging our global experience in mining operations. Second, India offers a rich talent pool essential for complementing our IT and manufacturing solutions. Expanding our operations in India aligns with our broader strategy of Asia-Pacific growth, attracting, developing, and retaining skilled professionals for industrial digital transformation.

Could you elaborate on Stefanini’s approach to consulting and methodology in manufacturing?
Our methodology identifies up to five operational gaps blocking efficiency. Built on principles of service design, design thinking, product management, UX, and change management, it ensures robust solutions are implemented rather than simply recommending changes. UX plays a critical role, particularly in change management, as it ensures that technological solutions are effectively adopted and sustained within industrial operations.

What is Stefanini’s growth plan?
Our growth strategy is twofold. First, we are enhancing our globalisation approach, leveraging Stefanini Group’s presence across more than 100 countries to expand manufacturing expertise and services. Learning from our operations in the US, Europe, and Latin America, we are now focusing on consolidating our footprint in Asia, beginning with India and initiatives in Saudi Arabia, particularly in critical minerals.

Second, AI remains at the core of our expansion. Having pioneered AI in manufacturing 15 years ago, we continue to develop data-driven decision-making processes that improve operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption, lower costs, and maintain high-quality output. Our objective is to enable industrial clients to produce better with measurable gains in performance and sustainability.

Where does India fit into Stefanini’s globalisation and manufacturing strategy?
India represents a key next step in our Asian strategy. With a strong industrial base and growing adoption of digital transformation, it is an ideal environment to implement our solutions. Our focus is to establish a consolidated presence, attract and develop talent, and form strategic partnerships in sectors like mining and manufacturing. This approach allows us to integrate our IT and operational expertise effectively, ensuring a scalable and sustainable impact on Indian industrial operations.

Any final thoughts on Stefanini’s vision for operational and energy efficiency?
Operational and energy efficiency is both an engineering and data challenge. By combining advanced AI, optimisation, and control techniques, Stefanini Group enables industrial clients to achieve unprecedented levels of efficiency. Our solutions are designed not just to advise, but to implement tangible improvements, reinforcing our commitment to transforming manufacturing globally.
