Honeywell unveils AI-based automation platform for life sciences manufacturing

Honeywell has introduced TrackWise Manufacturing, an AI-assisted, cloud-native platform designed to revolutionise workflow automation in the life sciences manufacturing sector. As one of the first platforms to integrate digital and physical manufacturing, TrackWise Manufacturing aims to enhance operational efficiency and accelerate drug development.

The life sciences industry largely relies on paper-based workflow management, leading to inefficiencies and delays in bringing new drugs to market. TrackWise Manufacturing addresses these challenges by automating processes with AI, enabling companies to streamline operations, reduce errors, and expedite regulatory compliance. Built on a containerised platform, the solution ensures flexibility and seamless integration across various computing environments, allowing manufacturers to adapt quickly to industry demands.

Pramesh Maheshwari, President, Honeywell Process Solutions, stated, "By embedding AI-assisted workflows, we are leveraging automation to help life science manufacturers reduce technology transfer times and bring products to patients faster."

The platform incorporates Honeywell’s Unit Operations Controller (UOC) for critical control functions and introduces an industry-first quality framework, embedding real-time quality metrics into manufacturing. This "quality-by-design" approach enhances compliance and efficiency, ultimately reducing time-to-market for new drugs.

Expanding on Honeywell’s 30-year TrackWise legacy, this new platform represents a major advancement in manufacturing technology, unifying quality management, automation, and regulatory compliance into a single AI-powered solution.
