India’s electronics industry is aiming for USD 500 billion in annual output by 2030, supported by free trade agreements, production-linked incentives and rising global demand for locally manufactured products. Industry leaders noted that expanded market access through FTAs, especially with the UAE, Australia and the UK, has strengthened export competitiveness.
Manufacturers reported that the PLI scheme has accelerated investment across mobile phones, components, wearables, IT hardware and semiconductor parts. India is also seeing stronger participation from global brands seeking resilient and diversified supply chains.
The sector’s growth is being driven by higher domestic consumption, favourable policies, expanding component ecosystems and greater focus on high-technology manufacturing. The industry expects continued policy support to help position India as a major global electronics hub by the end of the decade.
