Crown Worldwide Group expands India footprint with new logistics facility

Crown Worldwide Group, a global leader in logistics, storage, and records management, inaugurated its third owned facility in India at Ramasandra, Bengaluru. Built with EDGE-certified green construction, smart systems, and scalable design, the 76,000 sq. ft. site marked a major step in the company’s global growth strategy. India contributed 10 per cent of Crown’s worldwide revenue and ranked among its top five markets.

The inauguration was led by Crown’s global leadership including Jim Thompson, Founder and Chairman; Jennifer Harvey, Group CEO; Tze Shen Kong, Asia CEO; and Srinivas Krishnan, Managing Director – South Asia, underlining the strategic importance of India. “Marking this milestone in the same year as Crown’s 60th anniversary made it especially significant,” said Thompson. “It reflected both our history and our confidence in the future.”

Spread across seven acres, the facility combined contemporary design with environmental stewardship. The EDGE Green Building certification validated Crown’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure. A landscaped frontage and glass dome façade maximised daylight while interiors used certified green materials. Only 25 per cent of the land was occupied, leaving space for future expansion. Extensive geotechnical assessments and slope-aware design further ensured long-term resilience.

“India was one of the fastest-growing markets for our clients and for Crown. This facility represented a vital milestone in our global expansion,” said Harvey. “It enabled us to deliver next-generation storage and digital information management solutions to customers in this thriving region.”

Designed primarily for information management, the facility dedicated more than 57,000 sq. ft. with multi-tier racks capable of storing over 900,000 cartons. Operations included barcode tracking, secure destruction areas, and evacuation-ready layouts. Crown Workspace and Crown Relocations also benefited from zones for furniture, personal effects, and specialist equipment, all supported by secure circulation and inventory systems.

With advanced digital infrastructure, the site ensured seamless and secure operations. Real-time monitoring enhanced workflows, while smart systems for energy and water efficiency strengthened Crown’s sustainability commitments.

The facility was also prepared for advanced services such as bonded warehousing, temperature-controlled wine and spirit storage, cold chambers for healthcare goods, and Crown Fine Art’s secure storage for cultural assets.

“Bengaluru strengthened our regional footprint,” said Kong. “It enabled us to serve South Asia with enhanced efficiency.”

Safety remained paramount, with a Building Management System integrating fire, flood, security, and energy controls. In addition, 43 per cent of the site was dedicated to greenery, reinforcing Crown’s sustainability ethos.

“This facility was a strategic step in Crown’s India network,” said Krishnan. “It strengthened our presence in the country and built a strong foundation for long-term growth, demonstrating India’s importance in Crown’s global story.”
