Marine Electricals inks MoU with Cummins India to manufacture naval ship pumps

Marine Electricals has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Cummins India to collaborate on the production of pumps for naval ships. The partnership will focus on the supply, commissioning, and after-sales services of these pumps, specifically catering to the Indian Navy and private ship owners, according to Marine Electrical.

In addition to their work in the naval sector, the MoU also aims to explore opportunities in the energy sector by offering power generation solutions.

Marine Electrical's subsidiary, Narhari Engineering Works, is currently expanding its manufacturing capacity to produce both naval and marine motors with ratings of up to 1MW. The subsidiary is also set to begin manufacturing alternators (electric generators) for naval and marine applications at its new facility in Palghar.

Narhari Engineering has been specialising in custom-made shock-graded motors that meet Naval Engineering standards since 1964. The company produces motors for various applications on naval ships, with capabilities up to 300 kW.

To enhance its export business, Marine Electricals recently opened offices in Europe and the UAE.
