Variable Speed Pulley

Variable Speed Pulley drives convert any standard constant speed motor to a variable speed, that delivers infinite speed control for any desired speed within the speed range, instantly, accurately, smoothly and while the machine is in operation. The speed variation achieved is 1:3 and in combination with various fixed pulleys practically full middle speed range is covered. This provides versatility to a machine by enabling it to be adjusted to the right speed in changing job conditions, operators, sizes, shapes, materials, and production schedules. The benefits are maximum production, reduced manufacturing costs, better and uniform quality of products. The variable speed drive consists of the spring loaded variable speed pulley, variable speed belts, fixed pulley and motor slide base. The favourable construction of Variable Speed Pulley is both the pulley disks move axially along the serrated hub and are forced on to the working flanks of the wide section V belt by specially designed basket shaped springs. Tle force resulting from the torque transmission are carried by safely dimensioned serrations. Due to these serrations very small surface pressures are maintained, which are well within the permissible limit. Therefore a long life is achieved.
