Variable Speed Pulley With Diaphragm Spring

Deepak Drives offers variable speed pulley with diaphragm spring. The heart of this pulley is the versatile serration design all over the circumference of the hub instead of the conventional key locking. Hence it has a large surface area for torque transmission, and equal contact of the profile faces for very smooth running. The disc of the pulleys are made out of aluminium alloy with a special coating which guarantees very high resistance to abrasion. This lightweight pulley has added advantages of power saving, less load on serrations hence longer life, and low moment of inertia which is an important criterion for reversal or high switching frequency application. A specially designed diaphragm spring made from top quality steel is used. Its design ensures that an ideal pressure is exerted throughout the speed range and at all positions of the pulley discs. The strength and uniformity of the spring also ensures adequate contact between the pulley and wedge surfaces of the wide V belt at all diameters and that the belt transmits the required power without slip. Both halves of the expanding pulley move equally and in opposite directions. There is no misalignment of the V belt. The undue wear on belt and bearings through twist or distortion is thus avoided. All pulleys are dynamically balanced, pre-bored and have keyway to suit the motor shafts.
