Step Feeder

Orbital Systems offers a Step Feeder. It is designed for the feeding and orientation of small and large components to a production system. The components are separated as they go up a series of steps and then orientated. Movement of the parts is by reciprocating plates picking up parts on the leading edge of one plate and transferring to the leading edge of the next, etc., until the desired discharge height is reached for presentation to the orientation tooling. The smooth reciprocating action of the plates ensures a positive, quiet and gentle movement of the components. Wear is negligible because there is no churning and tumbling action. The orientation tooling is manufactured in line allowing easy replacement, inter-changeability or adjustment as necessary. This modular system makes cost-effective and individual solutions possible. The step feeder can process large quantities of components and is user friendly with a convenient low filling height. The machine comes complete with integral storage, feed track and control ensuring an accurate interface of the relative modules and ease of installation. As a guide components from 1.5 mm cube up to 30 mm Æ x 500 mm long, individual pressings and castings weighing up to 3 kg can be handled.
