Non-Backlash Rack & Pinion

Rotolinear Systems has introduced non-backlash Rack and Opinion, TCG Runner, having the distinct advantage of non-backlash, high precision, low noise, less vibration, low dust generation, extended length and smooth running, etc. The trochoidal profiled tooth enables the manufacturer to make a plurality of mutual teeth mesh at one time. The teeth always mesh via two or three portions and eliminate backlash when rotated in one or another direction. Instead of gears a combination of cam and roller makes a positioning accuracy and feeding accuracy as nearly as that of ball screw structure. Rollers smoothly mesh with the optimised trochoidal tooth surface so as to avoid rattling noise, tooth striking noise and rotating noise being induced together with least amount of vibration. Due to smooth rotation, the structure dispense with the least amount of heat and dust generated and cope with clean room operations. This is capable of high speed of 180 metres/minute. Some of the applications are gantry loader, robot transfer in clean rooms, transfer equipment, plurality of heads, robotic run at long stroke, etc.
