Chain Conveyors

Conveyors operating with chain as the pulling/load carrying member fall into the category of chain conveyors. Chain conveyors widely vary in terms of characteristics and principles of operation, prominent among them are slat conveyors, overlapping apron conveyors, hinged pan conveyors, redler or en-masse conveyors, scraper conveyors, drag conveyors, bucket conveyors, etc. Chain conveyors can sustain heavy loads, higher temperatures, high abrasion/attrition, can work at steep inclines and have proved to be extremely durable, operating in critical and adverse conditions for longer periods. The technical specifications and material of construction depend upon the application. The photograph shows a heavy-duty triple strand chain conveyor supplied for indexing application, designed for a distributed load of 20 tonnes. The conveyor employs ISMC 125 x 65 and ISMC 150 x 75 mm (with 12 mm thick central plate) channels as slats fixed on chain attachments. The chain is heavy, triple strand with breaking strength of 25 tonnes on each link. Sprockets are en-8 forged with flame hardened teeth up to 300 BHN. Structure comprises of ISA 65 x 65 x 8, ISA 75 x 75 x 8, ISA 100 x 75 x 8, ISMC 300 x 90, ISMB 100 x 50, etc. These conveyors are designed to be robust and tough with a high availability and reliability factor. Other equipment manufactured includes: high capacity double legged bucket elevators (centrifugal discharge/continuous discharge/positive discharge/internal discharge, etc), bucket conveyors, en-masse conveyors, drag chain (scraper conveyors), apron feeders, rotary air lock feeders (including high temperature and pressure applications), screw elevators, etc.
