Apron conveyor

Veekay apron conveyors consist of series of jointed overlapping or interlocking apron pans on which the material is carried. They can be used to handle practically any bulk material as well as packaged and solid objects. These conveyors are widely used for handling bulk materials such as ores, stone, gravel, coal, cullet, industrial refuse, garbage, woodchips and similar materials. Typical apron conveyors can be supplied with corrugated pans or with flat pans. The apron conveyor consists of series of over lapping or interlocking apron pans attached to two strands of chain. The conveyor and its load are supported on the rails by single flanged rollers assembled on cross rods extending through the cross links of both conveyor chain. Apron conveyors using regular pans can be operated horizontally or on inclines up to 25?. By using flights attached to the pans or specially shaped pans, inclines up to 45? are possible for handling some materials. Side plates of varying heights attached to the ends of the apron pans or formed by the chain sidebars, are usually used to increase the amount of material that can be handled and to restrain it from spilling over the edges. Stationary skirt plates also may be used to increase the depth of material that may be handled. Skirt plates are commonly used an apron feeders and conveyors acting as self-feeders. The apron width is supplied from 450 mm to 1500 mm.
