ALUMINUM SEPARATOR CONVEYORS

Miven Mayfran Conveyors offer Aluminium Separator Conveyors. It employs a new and unique technique to remove chips, particles and fines from flowing coolants. Its advantages are: removes suspended and floating chips of low specific weight; virtually eliminates costly machine sump cleaning; improves coolant life and quality; and performs equally well with water-soluble coolant or cutting oil. The unit is designed to separate metal chips and fines from flowing coolant. It is particularly effective in removing chips that tend to remain suspended in coolants. Operation: High-density chips, such as copper or stainless steel, quickly settle to the bottom of a tank and are carried out by the integral drag conveyor. However, low density chips, such as aluminium, settle more slowly and can remain suspended in the coolant. The aluminium separator conveyor overcomes the settling problem of low-density metals. The unit is designed so that coolant inside the tank is not disturbed as fluid and fines enter the conveyor. A series of entrance baffles reduces the velocity of the incoming coolant and directs the chips towards the bottom of the tank. Absence of turbulence allows most of the fine particles to settle onto the conveyor for removal. To ensure maximum coolant flow rate, both the inlet and outlet sides of the stainless steel screen are continuously wiped clean. Particles dislodged by the wipers drop onto the conveyor and are removed along with the heavier chips. The aluminium separator conveyor is ideal for machines that work in a variety of metals, including those of high specific weight such as copper and stainless steel.
