Thread Seals

Loctite, based in Bangalore, offers a new range of low-pressure thread seals for all types of pipe connections. These instant seals resist corrosion, vibration and shock loads. Also the seal increases when completely cured to withstand the burst pressure of the pipe. Loctite 542 is recommended for fine threaded fittings as used in hydraulic and pneumatic installations for connections on machine tools automotive vehicles, heavy plant equipment and small fittings in general. Loctite 577 is yet another product which can be applied on all coarse metal threads where fast cure and medium strength are required. It is suitable for applications in low temperature. Loctite 5331 is recommended for use on threaded plastic or plastic metal fittings carrying hot or cold water e.g. industrial and agricultural plastic water pipe systems or drainage systems. These products carry the German DVGW approval and tested in accordance to EN 7511. It meets BS 6956 type A for sealing gas fittings .WRC approval is there for use with portable water. These products replace hemp, tapes and paste thus providing complete contact between threads. It will not creep, shrink or block systems (including filters) by shredding. The excess sealant is easily flushed away. Disassembly can be achieved easily with normal tools.
