Solution For False Air Leakage, Magna Fix

Morsel Enggtech offers Magna Fix 5117, a solution for False Air Leakage in cement industries, kilns and power plants. False air leakage adversely affects production and profits. Morsel Magna Fix – product grade 5117 – is a three-component system consisting of a resin, hardener and filler, used in a mix ratio of 3:1:3 by weight. The filler ratio can be varied as per requirement of application up to 5. In hardened condition, Morsel Magna Fix 5117 gives excellent hardness and abrasion resistance. It can be applied in any required thickness and has a very unique combination of base and selected hardener and filler, which together gives an excellent performance: cures within 2 minutes after applying at typical dry service temperatures of 1000°C. In cement industries, false air leakage is the inward (suction) or outward leakage of air from the kiln, pre-heater, coal mill, raw mill, etc., which lowers the productivity and increases the power consumption. When there is suction the percentage of oxygen increases and the same is measured to calculate false air; more the oxygen content more is the false air. Application of Magna Fix has brought the false air from as high as 20% to 4% resulting in huge power saving and increased productivity. In power plants, false air leakage affects ducting, boiler gates, blower inspection window, etc., which lowers productivity by heat loss from inside, in turn heating the environment and increasing power consumption. Conventional methods of using glass wool putty is not very effective as it treats the symptoms, i.e., noise, more than the cause. Magna Fix after achieving its cured state becomes rock hard ensuring no leaks, and can be only removed by hammering. Typical applications for false air found at several leak sources: can be used for repairing mortar/leak source on higher temperature applications such as kilns, cyclone doors, cyclone pre-heater, cyclone roof, pipe, flange, flap valves, expansion joints, ducting doors, feeding pipes, i.e., man holes, check holes, down pipe, roof/flap gate, and sleep ring seal in kiln inlet.
