PIPE SEALANT

Henkel Loctite manufactures Pipe Sealing Cord, Loctite(r) 55. It comes in the form of a coated multi-filament cord that can be wrapped around the external threads of the joint directly from a handy pocket sized container. The container is equipped with a built-in cutter to easily apply the right amount of cord. The proprietary coating on the cord gives the right lubricity to help during joint tightening while the cord material itself is formulated to give excellent resistance to vibration and impacts and retain sealing under extreme conditions. Loctite 55 is suited for sealing metal and plastic tapered pipe threads and fittings up to 6-inch diameter. It is temperature resistant up to 130°C and seals high-pressure industrial and domestic pipe lines instantly. It is used for sealing potable water and gas lines. It offers many significant advantages over traditional pipe jointing methods like PTFE tapes. Benefits: Versatile - can be safely used on cast iron, steel, brass, copper, chrome, nickel-plated and galvanized surfaces, stainless steel, and plastic parts; gives assured seal and is internationally approved for sealing potable (drinking) water and gas lines.
