Fibre Glass Backing Tape, Quick-Weld

Doshi Impex offers Fibre Glass Weld Backing Tape, Quick-Weld. This is a heat resistant aluminium tape with a woven fibreglass centre strip, designed to eliminate or reduce the need for purging and create a weld pool enclosure. It is a system to speed welding production, save welding costs and improve welder's comfort. The tape is ideal for one-sided welding to achieve a flat, clean, smooth n shiny weld bead. It is designed for use with most types of welding equipment for heavy engineering, fabrication of ships, pressure vessels.

• The surface area to be weld to make it free from moisture, oil, grease, rust, loose mill scale or dust.
• Cleaning may be done by wire brushing and acetone or metal cleaner
• Remove adhesive protecting paper from our "weld back-up tape".
• Centre the fibre glass tape along the weld-joint and hand press the adhesive side of aluminium foil on to the job, till it sticks aim tight.
• Give first pass with TIG and fuse the root using filler wire.
• Weld with subsequent passes using submerged are welding process.
