The wet scrubbers work on principle of dynamic interaction between scrubbing liquid and pollutants in the moving stream of air/gas. They are employed where exhaust gas, to be cleaned before exhaust to atmosphere, contains particulate matters, fumes and gases, which can be absorbed in scrubbing liquid. The unique feature of this scrubber is that the scrubbing action takes place inside the fan impeller, and higher the turbulence inside the fan blade, higher is the scrubbing efficiency achieved. Unlike packed tower scrubbers, this does not require cumbersome cleaning packed tower internals.
