ULTRASONIC CLEANERS

Amrut Enterprises offers Ultrasonic Cleaners. It is available from 1.5 to 300 litres capacity. It is useful for industrial application as cleaning of engine parts, castings, PCBs, filters, etc. The sound waves form a bombarding effect on material to be cleaned. To extract the effectiveness of ultrasound it requires a medium such as water or solvent for the waves to propagate. The object to be cleaned is immersed in the solvent and ultrasound is passed to the solvent. As the waves pass the liquid fractures or tears because of the negative pressure. This pressure builds up and finally the violent collapse of the cavitation bubbles result in implosions, which causes shock waves to radiate. It has been calculated that temperature of about 5500°C and pressure exceeding 10000 PSI are generated at implosion sites. This effectively displaces the saturated layer of dirt and allow fresh solvent to come in contact with the object. Some contaminants are comprised of insoluble particles loosely attached and held in place by ionic or cohesive forces. Cavitation and implosion displace and remove loosely held contaminants. For this to be effective, it is essential that the coupling medium be capable for wetting the surfaces to be cleaned. Immersible transducers for dairy and pharmaceutical equipments are also available.
