PPS is another high temperature fibre having excellent thermal and chemical resistance (highly resistant to hydrolysis and very good acid resistance). Its resistance to hydrolysis gives it is an advantage over M-aramid, which is susceptible to moisture. With a continuous operating temperature of 190ºC, it has a high limiting oxygen index and does not support combustion in normal atmosphere.
