Industrial Filters & Fabrics Pvt. Ltd. offers Polyimide (P-84) Filter Fabric. Polyimide (P-84) needle felt is known to give enhanced filtration efficiency because of the tri-lobal cross-section of the fibre, which offers 80% increase in surface area as compared to other profiles. Though it is a high-temperature fibre having continuous operating temperature 230°C which is second to only PTFE, it is also used with other regular fibres, generally as the top layer of the felt to improve collection efficiency, reduce emissions and provide low pressure drop due to the absence of dust penetration into the felt. P84 is often used in blends with PTFE and PPS to optimise price/performance ratio. PTFE scrim is also commonly used. Similar to PPS fibres, it also possesses better hydrolysis resistance than M-aramid fiber except at high temperature. Fluorocarbon treatment is given to enhance water/oil repellence for sticky/moist dusts.
