Polyester filter fabric is the most versatile and most widely used filter media available in various varieties like micro denier, fine denier and virgin denier, special polyester etc. depending upon the fibre denier used which in turn is decided by the demands on the media in terms of filtration efficiency, pressure drop etc. Various treatments can be imparted to the fabric like water repellence, fire retardant, spark blocking finish, glazing and also PTFE membrane lamination. Glazing is done to improve the dust release tendency in case of sticky dusts and to lock the fibres on the surface in case it has to be used for solid-liquid separation as well. Membrane lamination uses surface filtration mechanism which delivers high particulate capture rates especially for sub micron particles, reduces pressure drop resulting in energy saving, and enables higher air-cloth ratios permitting reduced bag-house sizing. The continuous operating temperature is 150ºC for Polyester.
