LYCRA® Fabrics for Men's Denim

INVISTA has introduced TOUGH MAX™ LYCRA® fabrics, a new concept for men’s denim, at the Kingpins Show in Mumbai on March 6th and 7th. Twice as strong as comparable 100% cotton denim, these fabrics withstand the rigors of everyday wear and tear. Made from a blend of cotton and high performance LYCRA® T400® fiber, jeans of TOUGH MAX™ LYCRA® fabric move with the wearer for a comfortable fit that lasts.
The TOUGH MAX™ LYCRA® fabric concept was born out of a void in the marketplace. In analysing market offerings INVISTA noted that while rugged jeans could last a long time, they were often heavy or stiff. And while 100% cotton jeans were comfortable, they did not always stand up to the demands of an active lifestyle. Jeans made with TOUGH MAX™ LYCRA® fabrics fill this market need by allowing designers to create garment that are both tough and comfortable at the same time. To assess consumer interest and purchase motivation for jeans made with TOUGH MAX™ LYCRA® fabrics, INVISTA hired an independent market research company, Strategic Insights, to conduct a consumer survey for them. Over 1,400 males, ages 18 - 49 from India, the US, Italy, France, and Germany participated in the study, which was conducted via the internet in January, 2012.
INVISTA has quality standards that fabrics must meet in order to qualify for TOUGH MAX™ LYCRA® fabric branding. Fabrics must contain LYCRA® T400® fiber as well as meet strict standards for strength and abrasion resistance.
