Rockwell Automation offers Weld Block Protective Shells. These are lightweight; space-saving digital I/O blocks ideally suited for on-machine mounting and designed to withstand the demanding operating environment of typical welding applications. These are equipments used in automated welding applications, which tends to suffer shorter life spans due to harsh environmental conditions. Weld block units are distributed I/O blocks that combine I/O circuits, a power supply and network adapters into a single, sealed IP69k housing. Weld block provides industrially hardened blocks of 24 V DC digital I/O that are mounted directly on equipment near sensors or actuators. These sealed IP69k metal housing of nickel-plated cast aluminium resists the effects of weld slag and magnetic fields created by high currents at weld points found in close proximity to the weld head. In addition, the protective housing is lighter than other similar I/O products, meaning it is ideally suited for end-of-arm robotic applications.
