Utility Modems

Visiontek offers Utility Modems, 81-GU. Features: dual band GSM/CDMA; configurable I/0 ports; and message source and message authentication. The modem enables control and monitoring of remote devices using short message service (SMS). Message and source authentication is an added security feature. Process events/alerts can be communicated to pre-configured sources with pre-defined message text. Applications: SCADA; system integrators; automatic meter reading; industrial/process automation; telemetry; web browsing; fleet management; remote data logging; manufacturers of data loggers/RTUs/PLC devices; sub-station automation solutions; and energy gas and fluid meter manufactures, etc. Advantages: In-built powers supply; stand-by to leased lines for data transfer in critical services (ATMs, etc); and remote data capture, etc.
