Transformer oil

Transformer oil is a petroleum base mineral oil used in power and distribution transformers and other allied equipment. It is used as an insulating medium between windings and core tank of a transformer. As heat transformer medium coolant like all other oils, it absorbs heat emitted due to various power losses.Technology for refining the insulating oils has kept up with changes in manufacture and design of transformers to date. Insoil is extremely stable to withstand electrical - thermal stress in operating conditions of a transformer.
