Torque Limiter

Rotolinear Systems offer different types of Torque Limiters, which provide reliable protection for machines and human beings. The reaction (response) time is extremely short (milli seconds) and backlash free. These torque limiters come with different overload torques and it is very easy to set the desired torque. A torque limiter is based on the usage of cup springs with digressive characteristics. It can be used for direct drives and indirect drives. Once the adjusted overload torque range is reached the balls disengage automatically and the transmission of torque is interrupted. After the torque fall below the allowable max torque, the torque limiter is re-engaged automatically and continues to transmit the torque. Torque limiters are available in torque range of 0.5 Nm to 1600 Nm. Four models are available in safety couplings: the first is for mounting tooth belt pulleys, sprocket wheels, spur gears; the second model is bellow type with conical hub; the third is also bellows type with collet clamp, and the fourth model comes with servo insert type collet clamp. Single position engagement, multiposition engagement and full disengagement options are available.
