Tool grinder

Kuttukaran Machine Tools Ltd, located in Cochin, manufactures tool grinders - TG-100, for grinding different boring and turning tools. It has a 0.5 HP, 2800-rpm motor and separate wheels for grinding and lapping. The machine is provided with a grinding wheel on one side and a diamond-lapping wheel on the other side. With the help of the jigs provided, grinding and lapping of the tool faces can be done alternatively without wasting time. As standard accessories, two jigs for grinding cylinder boring tools and line boring tools are supplied with the machine. The grinding wheel supplied normally is suitable for carbide tipped tools. The machine can also be used for drill-point grinding with suitable jigs. Jigs are interchangeable on either side of the machine.
