Tapping attachment

Emuge India offers Tapping attachment, Switch-Master from Emuge. It has an integrated reverse gear mechanism to change the direction of rotation of the tool head when the machine spindle reverses. The resulting advantages are: time saving owing to shorter cycle times; constant cutting speeds => better tool life; protection of the machine spindle; and energy saving owing to nearly constant power adaptation. Switching of the direction of rotation is through external energy (pneumatics). The advantages are: reduction of axial switching impulses onto the tap; minimised axial force onto the tap flanks; precise switching point via the actuation sensor which is independent from the RPM and the tap pitch => exact thread depths; reduced safety distance between workpiece and tap due to short switching distances => reduction of the cycle time; and reduced switching element wear owing to extremely fast switching of the direction of rotation. Other features: smooth wear-resistant operation through oil bath lubrication; safe sealing against penetration of coolant into the housing through separation of the axial and radial movement of the tool clamping head; application on CNC controlled machines with driven machine spindle; cutting range: M4 - M12; max allowed RPM: 3000; suitable for the cutting of right- and left-hand threads (left-hand threads are produced by a right-hand turning machine spindle); standard shank adaptation: cylindrical shank dia 25 mm DIN1835 B+E - the shank allows the easy adaptation with most machine taper adaptors; twisting of the housing is avoided by the stop fixture, which also transfers the auxiliary energy allowing an automatic tool change; and the stop fixture must be individually adapted to the required machine type.
