Solid grease

NTN "Solid Grease" is a lubricant composed mainly of lubricating grease and ultra-high polymer polyethylene. Solid grease has the same viscosity as grease at normal temperature. By applying a special heat-treatment process to the solid grease it solidifies retaining a large proportion of the lubricant within the bearing. Since solid grease changes to a solid state after heat treatment the lubricant cannot leak easily even when the bearing is subjected to strong vibrations or centrifugal forces. Solid grease effectively works to prevent leakage of lubricant and extends the service life of the bearings. NTN bearings with solid grease are available in two types: the spot-pack type in which NTN solid grease is injected into the retainer and the full-pack type in which all empty spaces are filled with NTN solid grease. The spot-pack is the standard for deep groove ball bearings, miniature bearings, small diameter ball bearings, and bearing units. The full-pack is the standard for self-aligning ball bearings, self-aligning roller bearings, and needle roller bearings. Features: low volume of lubricant leakage; maintenance free; low bearing torque; and excellent sealing.
