Solid carbide tools for hard machining

Sandvik Asia Limited Titex Division offers solid carbide tools for hard machining. To an increasing extent components are being cut in the hardened state. This allows the work processes for soft machining and hardening to be omitted enabling significant reductions in production cost and through put times. These benefits to a large degree were initially recognised by the tool and mould industry, but are now also being enjoyed by other branches of industry. During the machining process hard materials place a very high demand on the machine tool and the tool itself. The machine tool must have a high level of rigidity and a high damping capacity. The tools must be capable of with standing high cutting forces and temperatures. This can only be realised by using tools specifically designed for this application with regard to geometry, cutting material and surface coating. The new Titex Plus-programme offers tools of this kind for the following operations: drilling, tapping and milling.
