Shock Absorbers For Soft Braking Actions

Sommer Automatic GmbH introduce a new shock absorber. The helical grooves of the shock absorber piston contract in width as well as depth. When the piston is immersed in oil, an orifice is at hand. The oil flows through this orifice. As the piston penetrates deeper, the orifice contracts continuously until it vanishes. As a result a soft braking action is achieved. The threaded sleeve is chemically hard chrome plated. The piston with helical grooves is hardened and ground. The manufacturers name the most important advantage as being the 2-3 fold energy absorption.
