Sealed Spindle Bearings

Sealed Spindle Bearings (FAG) Manufacturers and users of machine tools alike often consider lubrication to be the critical point of spindle bearings. With open bearings there is a potential danger that contaminants such as dirt or humidity might severely impede the properties of the lubricant and thus the bearing function. Time-consuming and cost-intensive downtimes are the consequence. For vertical and inclined spindles, these FAG bearings are ready to mount and can easily be installed. Replacing standard bearings with a sealed spindle bearing will not require design modifications. The sealed spindle bearing also solves another problem: in the case of vertical and inclined spindles, the sealing on both sides prevents the lubricant from leaking out. The grease is safely retained inside the bearing. These are now also available for spindle bearings of the B-design. For several years sealed spindle bearings have been available in the HSS (high speed sealed) and HCS (hybrid ceramic sealed) design. Now spindle bearings of the B-design (for instance B7014...2RSD) are also available both with steel balls and, as hybrid bearings, with ceramic balls. Numerous fields of application: wherever grease-lubricated spindle bearings are being used, sealed spindle bearings will lead to further advantages in mounting and operation.
