Roller hearth kilns

Associated Industrial Furnaces offers roller hearth kilns in collaboration with Solar Impianti Srl, Italy. These are pre-fabricated in modular sections for easier transportation and assembly.Optimal number of burners and specialised cooling systems allow these kilns to fire any type of glazed or unglazed material to obtain porous or vitrified products. Specialised instrumentation allows a wide range of adjustment in temperature, pressure and roller speeds for time cycles. Advantages: minimal maintenance downtimes; high energy savings; versatile kilns suitable for different applications like ceramic tiles, sanitaryware, tableware, laminated CRGO cores, ferrite, etc; suitable for operation on gas, oil or electric; and firing temperature up to 1250?C. Product temperature is finally cooled by blowing cold air from over and below the rollers through perforated SS tubes. The system is designed to allow the usage of the heated air in other processes in the plant for drying applications, an important source of recuperated energy. Three models are available: RHK 1400/1200 with a useful firing width of 1414 mm (7 tiles of 20 x 20 cm in a row); RHK 1000/1200 - firing width of 1010 mm (5 tiles of 20 x 20 cm in a row); and RHK 1200/1200 - firing width of 1212 mm (6 tiles of 20 x 20 cm in a row). For all three models, maximum working temperature of the kiln is 1200?C. Moisture content assumed in ceramic tiles is not more than 2%. Any additional moisture must be dried in chamber driers or a roller drier installed before the kiln and using waste heat from the roller hearth kiln. Product outputs have been calculated on the basis of cycle times ranging from 40 minutes to 80 minutes. Cycle times may vary for different products and applications.
